displaced and endangered scholars will present their research to a wider
community in order to bring them together with established scholars and mentors
and expand their professional and academic networks. The conference will also
promote the exchange among key stakeholders representing support programs for
at-risk scholars, research funding organizations, expert community and AiS
partner institutions in Germany, Lebanon and Jordan.

Call for Projects in the Priority Program
"Transottomanica: Eastern European-Ottoman-Persian Mobility Dynamics"
for 2020-2023
The program will focus on the "Transottoman" ties
and communication practices which emerged as a consequence of mobility between
these dominions between the 16th and the 19th centuries
and which have not previously become visible in studies of individual regions
or bilateral relations. Non-German nationals can apply, but need an affiliation
with a university or research institution in Germany.
