Participants will attend a series of lectures and colloquia led by leading academics
and public intellectuals in Lebanon. Participants will also have the opportunity to
meet, listen and engage leading social, political and economic actors from across
the spectrum in Lebanon.

2. International Student Congress: "Migration in a Changing World", Maltepe
University, Istanbul, 30-31 March 2017 
 
Participating undergraduate students will be joining fellow students from Turkey and
across the world to debate the different issues in the context of "Migration as a
Global Problem" in a conference organized by students for students, with the support
of staff.

3. Seminar: "Security Sector and its Reform in the MENA Region", Universitat
Autònoma de Barcelona, 25 May 2017
 
We encourage authors to submit papers for the seminar and a special journal issue
focusing not only on the theoretical framework of SSR, but also on a broader
approach to the security sector and its reform in the countries of the MENA region.

4. BRISMES Annual Conference 2017: "Movement and Migration in the Middle East:
People and Ideas in Flux", IMES, University of Edinburgh, 5-7 July 2017
 
We encourage proposals for papers and panels that explore not only migration of
people, but movement and exchanges in relation to ideas, culture, language, borders,
and social and political groups. In addition, we warmly invite proposals on any
topic related to Middle Eastern Studies, regardless of their fit with the
conference's main theme.

9. Ten-Day Course of Heritage of Islamic Persian Architecture, Islamic School of
Art, Qom, Iran, 2-11 July 2017
 
The aim of the course is to teach its participants to get acquainted with the
history of architecture in Iran, its characteristics, various designing styles,
decoration, the important masterpieces and the connection between spirituality and
Islamic thought in Iranian architecture.
