body in order to probe violence in the context of re-generation and

The relations between migration and gender will be analyzed and discussed from an
interdisciplinary and international perspective in this conference. Proposals can be

5. 11th Biennial Conference of the Association for the Study of Travel in Egypt and
the Near East (ASTENE), University of Exeter,  17-20 July 2015 

Contributions welcome that cover a wide range of disciplines and interests. It is
envisaged the conference will cover many fascinating themes - including, but not
limited to: ASTENE travellers in both directions: visitors from the Middle East in
Europe (and America) and visitors from the West in the East; travels in tandem, or

Society in Southeast Asia at Harvard Divinity School

We seek a scholar whose work engages the social, intellectual, political, artistic,
economic, or any other aspect of contemporary Islamic life with specialization in
Southeast Asia. The candidate should demonstrate a deep understanding of the
historical, social, and cultural contexts of Islamic institutions, movements, and
ideas in Southeast Asia with emphasis on the 18th-century to the present.

In June 2015, the EDA will open its doors. The Academy is tasked with developing and
upgrading the skills of current and future UAE diplomats and with developing a
regional center of thought leadership on international affairs. The Academy is
currently hiring teaching faculty (all levels) and senior researchers. The EDA is

science, international business or another relevant field, with substantial

11. Post-Docs,  PhDs and Visiting PhD's Fellowships Related to "Mobility, Empire and
Cross-Cultural Contacts in Mongol Eurasia", Hebrew University of Jerusalem 

The fellowships of this European Research Council (ERC)  project  are beginning in
2015-16 for outstanding candidates  fluent in Chinese, Arabic and Persian (at least
one of the above) and with a sound knowledge of the history of the Mongol Empire.
The successful candidates will s will take part in a team work, which creates a
prosopographical database of people active under Mongol rule, and can use the 
accumulated data for their own research.

The Center offers grants to outstanding researchers who study the interplay between
scientific and technological developments, politics, and ethics. The fellowship is

computer sciences, social sciences, law, medicine and bioethics. Candidates must
