This position is part of the larger project “Convivencia: Iberia to Global Dynamics,
500-1750”.  We invite proposals for one out of three research topics. Preference is
given to approaches that aim to explore the factors that determined possibilities
and constraints for the codification and modification of knowledge.

We welcome dissertations accepted for the degree of PhD between 1 July 2014 and 30
June 2015. They must primarily focus on the Arabian Peninsula, but can be inclusive
of the transnational flows of people, material and ideas across the Gulf, Red Sea,
and Indian Ocean.
